Brief Summary

Dimetrodons were a mamal, like reptile that were the apex predators 280 million years ago. Evolving from small lizards, dimetrodons were able to grow to to the size of hippos. They were vicous carnivors with imense apetites. They also were very protective mothers to their eggs. Guarding them in order to make sure other predators will not eat them. They would wait for months without eating or drinking until the eggs hatch. Overall, they were the first predators to show instinctive parent traits.
